oh, happy day!

...I found him whom my soul loves... Song of Solomon 3:4

I'm so lucky I'm in love with my best friend. You make me the happiest and luckiest girl alive, and I wouldn't trade the past three years for anything. We've grown from strangers into "best lunch pals." You're the one I can talk with without any filters, the one who is without a doubt there for me, the one who drops everything when I'm breaking down, the one who boosts me up and pushes me in the right direction. Your heart is so beautiful and I am so, so, so blessed to be a part of your life. I thank you for joining me on this crazy rollercoaster. Though there have been many ups and downs, we have stuck it through and if anything, it has only made our relationship stronger. Through the years, you've been my shoulder to cry on and my pocket full of sunshine. You are one of the most caring and selfless people I have ever encountered. Thank you for picking me up at the airport after long trips; for all those times you've heard me vent; for letting me eat all your food...all the time; and for the little surprises. Your love amazes me, and I thank God daily for blessing me with you.

happy 3 years to us!

Shrimp Cocktail and Company

On Saturday night, I decided to make my own version of the shrimp cocktail. The sauce is different - it's made with mango so it has a tangy, sweet vibe to it. I got the idea from watching the Food Network during the afternoon. It's a low budget and time efficient appetizer or snack. Before boiling the shrimp, I cut the side in half to remove the black vein. The sauce is made with mangos, red pepper, lime juice, garlic, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar. I threw everything into the mixer and I chopped up green onions to top it off. You can put sriracha sauce on top with the green onions, but I'm not a fan of spicy so I omitted that.

Afterward, D and I watched a bit of the Lakers game (I'm trying to convert him into a Lakers fan) and then, Tower Heist with Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller. Grrrrreat movie and great snacks!

Mini road trip

We decided to celebrate our 3 year anniversary one month early because we'll be in Berkeley and thus, car-less. We took a mini road trip to San Diego (seriously, driving that long gave me cramps in my legs) but anyway, it was a nice getaway. I've always wanted to try a road trip so here it was...and another plus was that it was on our bucket list before we graduate college. So one down and five more to go (we added some along the way). Usually, I'm not too keen on beaches, but the weather was beautiful...sunny with a gust of wind. By the time we got to San Diego, we were starving so we stopped by Vallarta for brunch before making our way to La Jolla Shore Beach. 'twas delicious! We pretty much went beach hopping because we moved onto La Jolla Cove and took walks on Prospect Street. It was one well-spent day!

Thank you for (almost) 3 wonderful years. You're the best.

I don't think any words can properly describe how amazing it was and how excited I was.
Because pictures are worth a thousand words, here are some from last night:

I see you, Christine.

Bucket list

Have you ever had a bucket list? I think I'm so in love with the idea of lists, possibly even more than the action items themselves. But then again, I'm speaking from academic experience. I have these great big dreams to travel the world and every state in the US (so, I guess you can call it a travel bucket list), but I also have a bucket list for places I'd like to visit before I graduate Berkeley. Then, there is a special "epic" list that we want to complete together before we graduate. He first mentioned it when he suggested running a half marathon in our fourth year, which would totally be fitting! In high school, we were both runners and we met officially through cross-country. Obviously, there's a lot more on the bucket list, but these are a few that we want to remember and cherish as the big highlights of each college year, especially in the midst of our busy schedules. Do you have a bucket list?
