Double date, double the fun

This week, I went on a double date in Brea with Sharon and Andrew. We ate at Bucca di Beppo (oddly, it was my first time). The food was absolutely amazing, but it was still really difficult to finish even with hungry stomachs. The Penne Arrabbiata was really rich in flavor with a touch of spicy from the Italian sausage, but I liked the Baked Rigatoni better. I usually don't enjoy cheese all that much, but the combination of flavors was absolutely divine. Afterward, we stopped by Merely Sweets to try the macarons (another check off my bucket list!). Although they didn't have as many flavors as other macaron shoppes, the decor was beautiful. If I ever have the time again, I'll definitely have to go back to that area of Brea: it was a giant towne center! We ended our double date with watching Abduction while eating my failed-attempted red velvet cake balls. They were anything but aesthetically pleasing...though they were quite delicious!

Corona del Mar

Going to Corona del Mar Beach was always on my "to-do" list in Southern California...and I finally got to go for the first time with Diana and Katrina. The weather forecast was supposed to be hot (like, 81 degrees), but when we arrived, it was overcast with a breeze. Luckily, it was warm enough to lie out on our towels and the two of them went into the water. The best thing about getting out of school early for summer is beaches aren't crowded! There weren't too many people, even at Huntington Beach when we passed it on the way. Bonus points for semester system. We made a trip to Fashion Island to get lunch at Wahoo's (Diana's and my first time!)...and I think my love for enchiladas has strengthened! Besides being able to go to the beach, it was good to be reunited with the two of them. I'm so excited for next week's plans with you ladies.

Also, read my article for Caliber Magazine: Stuck in Berkeley?

Mini road trip

We decided to celebrate our 3 year anniversary one month early because we'll be in Berkeley and thus, car-less. We took a mini road trip to San Diego (seriously, driving that long gave me cramps in my legs) but anyway, it was a nice getaway. I've always wanted to try a road trip so here it was...and another plus was that it was on our bucket list before we graduate college. So one down and five more to go (we added some along the way). Usually, I'm not too keen on beaches, but the weather was beautiful...sunny with a gust of wind. By the time we got to San Diego, we were starving so we stopped by Vallarta for brunch before making our way to La Jolla Shore Beach. 'twas delicious! We pretty much went beach hopping because we moved onto La Jolla Cove and took walks on Prospect Street. It was one well-spent day!

Thank you for (almost) 3 wonderful years. You're the best.

Bucket list

Have you ever had a bucket list? I think I'm so in love with the idea of lists, possibly even more than the action items themselves. But then again, I'm speaking from academic experience. I have these great big dreams to travel the world and every state in the US (so, I guess you can call it a travel bucket list), but I also have a bucket list for places I'd like to visit before I graduate Berkeley. Then, there is a special "epic" list that we want to complete together before we graduate. He first mentioned it when he suggested running a half marathon in our fourth year, which would totally be fitting! In high school, we were both runners and we met officially through cross-country. Obviously, there's a lot more on the bucket list, but these are a few that we want to remember and cherish as the big highlights of each college year, especially in the midst of our busy schedules. Do you have a bucket list?
