Bigs, littles, and sleepovers

One of the most exciting parts of a sorority is having a big sister. At the sleepover, our bigs were revealed to us :) No words can describe how excited I was (and am) when I found out my big sis. I'm looking forward to an incredible semester (and more) of bonding and sisterhood. I'm already loving my time at ADX and it hasn't yet been two weeks. Any previous worries of not fitting in or not enjoying my experience has been thankfully cast away. The sleepover at the house was awesome, for lack of better words. It was a great time for bonding with my pledge sisters as we each nervously awaited our turn for the revealing of our bigs. I also got to know more about the rest of the sisters as we laughed and shared embarrassing/funny/exhilarating stories. I'm so glad I decided to come out to spring rush, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the semester in the purple house with an amazing group of sisters.

Friends change.
Lovers leave.
But sisters are eternal.

a therapeutic Tuesday

It was one of those beautifully gloomy, cold days (finally! thank you, Berkeley!). After class, my very good friend Irene and I went down College Avenue to Jeremy's. I'm fairly certain this was my first time going out since second semester had started. Although we mostly window shopped, there is something therapeutic about browsing through racks of clothes and finding fashion inspiration. What I appreciated most were the cutesy Valentine items in the front of the shop. Strolling down College Avenue with Irene evoked memories from first semester, which seems so long ago. Last semester, we had less burdens and frequently visited Out of the Closet, Crossroads Trading Company, and 4th street. There is something relaxing about getting away from the campus, which to me represents work, stress, and all the upcoming midterms. And it's only the first year! But I know Jeremy's and College Ave will still be here for me (especially during summer).
