Spring break in the best coast!

First thing, I LOVE travelling. My bucket list includes travelling to each of the 50 states and a couple countries. And another thing, I LOVE the east coast. It's been exactly a year since I last visited. Immediately after landing in JFK, I took a shuttle to Yale University to visit Tiffany. Spring break definitely doesn't equate to study break (I spent all my time reading textbooks and writing papers while she was in class), but it was definitely relieving to just be away from a stress-filled campus. As expected, Yale is incredibly beautiful and the routine there is so different than that of Berkeley's. I had to time to eat breakfast and lunch and explore the beautiful campus. I even attended a Yale Alumni Panel! Of course, there are many things that I missed about and am accustomed to at Berkeley, but it was really great experiencing what other students experience in their day-to-day school day. I love Berkeley, but seriously, Yale has incredible dining commons food.

Spring break felt very productive: I woke up at 9am every morning, studied often, and explored Yale. On my last day, we went into New York City. East Coast, I hope to see you again very soon.

I love visits from my best friend!

This past weekend was one of the best...sans homework, papers, and any academic thoughts! One of my good college friends told me that this is the happiest she has ever seen me. So, thank you, best friend for that! Tiffany came on Friday and we went straight to Crossroads Trading Company, Buffalo Exchange and Sway before heading off to ADX's semi-formal. At semi-formal, we ate at Saturn Cafe (yes! checked off another place to go) and stargazed at an observatory in Oakland. Tiffany and I felt like ol' grandmothers - by 11, we were exhausted. On Saturday, we exercised at the underground gym, ate brunch at La Note (yet another place checked off places to go...totally worth the 2-hour wait in my opinion), and visited the MUN conference to see some of our high school kiddos. Afterward, we barted to San Francisco's Westfield mall and busted a mission to come back in time for dinner with some friends. It was grrrrreat - definitely an adventure-filled afternoon! We spent the night watching 27 Dresses with some of my friends (thanks, Choey and Grace!). Now, I definitely cannot wait to visit Tiffany during my spring break!

Countdown: 5 days

Tonight, I got to see my best friend for about 20 minutes (total teaser) after not seeing her for 7 months. She was with her college friends at Expresso Roma, 3 blocks away from my dorm, so without so much of a second thought, I decided to bus down and see her! Little did I know, seeing her and hugging her made me tear up. It's so good to see you physically in front of me again, Tiffo! I haven't experienced this much happiness in a really, really, really long time - thank you for being my source of joy.

Though the visit was very, very brief, I'm looking forward to the most incredible weekend with you - catching up, creating new memories, and just being with you. I miss you, I miss you, I missed you!

Countdown til the real reunion: 5 days!

Two peas in a pod

my best friend, Tiff

I was going through mail I received during first semester, and I realized many were from my best friend. Reminiscing, senior year was amazing, thanks to her. We spent every Saturday in Fullerton, cafe-hopping and vintage shopping; the summer in Palo Alto, hiking for a week; and the rest of summer, sleeping over and talking until 4am. Tiffany was my first passenger on the freeway, and she also held my 13-inches of hair when I finally donated it to Locks of Love. And only would walking 2 miles in the pouring rain and open-toed sandals be fun with her!

Though she's 3000 miles away, our friendship is still just as strong. Before we left for college, we signed a stupid (but still, really cute) "best friend contract," which is conveniently hanging on my dorm wall. 'til March, Tiffo!
